Our Insurance for charities provides cover for all eventualities so you can continue your work safe in the knowledge that your charity is protected by a specialist Charity Insurance Broker.
At Ellis David, we insure a wide variety of charities from local community charities to national charities for education and social welfare benefits. We also insure large international charities with a presence across all continents. Despite the differences between these organisations, the perils they are at risk of are the same with varying ranges of cover required.
Few charities have the financial resources to pay out compensation, damage repairs or legal fees should a claim be made against them.
We can provide cover against a wide variety of of risks, this could be a visitor having an accident at a fundraising event, a trustee or volunteer sustaining an injury as a direct result of working for your charity or even an allegation of moral or lawful wrongdoing by senior members of staff.
We have experience in arranging cover for international travel, vehicle and marine insurance, kidnap and ransom insurance, even arranging cover for volunteers to go on expeditions. If your NFP Organisation could be subject to any of these risks, then you need Charity Insurance.

Four key considerations for Charities Insurance:
Indemnity Insurance
Trustee Indemnity Insurance will cover the legal cost of defending against disqualification, investigations or any other claims made against a trustee.
It protects the trustee’s personal assets and is vital to any charity and its managers and trustees.
Liability Insurance
Public and Product Liability will cover the cost of defending your charity if someone is injured or their property is damaged due to your negligence or a fault with a product that you have supplied them.
Employers Liability Insurance is required by law if you employ anyone, including volunteers and will provide cover should your employee have an accident as a direct result of working for you. The minimum requirement is £5m however we recommend you take out as much as you can afford.
Property Damage
Provides cover for your buildings, general contents, computer equipment or even stock you may have against accidental damage or theft whilst on your charity’s premises.
You can also choose to insure your charity’s equipment that you may take away from the office (such as laptops and mobile phones) or property you may take on location. For example, if your charity is sponsoring a festival.
Money and Personal Assault
Will cover loss of money for fixed limits up to a maximum of a pre agreed amount depending on the nature of the loss.
In addition to this if you or your staff are injured during a robbery or attempted robbery in line with your work, you can arrange cover for this.
